Brickman® Wonders of the World set to wow audiences until 2022

17 September 2021

Due to popular demand, Brickman® Wonders of the World at Queensland Museum has been extended until 30 January 2022.

Minister for the Arts Leeanne Enoch said in a time where travel was impacted, there was no better way to explore 50 awe-inspiring LEGO® brick masterpieces and experience some of the world’s most iconic landmarks without leaving the country.

“Brickman Wonders of the World continues to help build the blocks for Queensland’s economic recovery with current ticket sales now topping more than 70,000,” Minister Enoch said.

“The Palaszczuk Government’s ongoing investment in Queensland Museum helps to generate local tourism opportunities like this one.

“I invite visitors to take advantage of the extended dates and come along to this exhibition of world wonders, which features Queensland’s own Great Barrier Reef, alongside other fantastic creations.”

Queensland Museum Network CEO Dr Jim Thompson said Brickman® Wonders of the World had been very popular with visitors.

“Our school holiday session in July was a sell out and September is close to selling out already,” Dr Thompson said.

“We are looking forward to welcoming more visitors and have some exciting programs and events planned over the coming months including late night weekend openings and a series of events such as After Dark and A Night at the Museum.”

The exhibition featuring some of the world’s most iconic landmarks and masterpieces were made exclusively with LEGO bricks by Australia’s only LEGO Certified Professional Ryan McNaught and his team.

Brickman Ryan McNaught said he was excited to be able to extend the season run of Wonders of the World.

“It’s been wonderful to see so many Queenslanders come and experience Brickman Wonders of the World. I’ve been loving seeing all the amazing LEGO brick creations people have made and I am excited to see the experience extended to even more people,” Ryan said.

“This is a special exhibition for the team, which took nearly 5000 hours to create, so it is always heart-warming to see so many people being inspired by it!”

From the Pyramids of Giza to the Arc de Triomphe, Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Great Wall of China, Big Ben and everything in between there has never been a better time to experience these wonders from the safety of home.

Created using more than 1.3 million LEGO bricks and taking almost 5,000 hours to create, the LEGO brick masterpieces built for Brickman Wonders of the World weigh well over a tonne.

Brickman Wonders of the World is open on Level 3 Queensland Museum until 30 January 2022.

Tickets cost Adult: $19.50, Concession (13 years + Seniors) $17, Junior (3-12) $12.50 or Family (2A+2C or 1A + 3C) $59.
