The British Museum’s Dr John Taylor, curator of the Mummy: Secrets of the Tomb exhibition, joins us for an in-depth discussion exclusive to Queensland Museum.

Journey with Dr Taylor as he takes us back to ancient Egypt to explore the rich and varied lifestyles of ancient Egyptians by examining objects, texts and monuments. By deciphering reliefs, spells and funerary texts such as the Book of the Dead, the secrets of the ancient Egyptian afterlife are slowly pieced together through this fascinating discussion.
As one of the world’s foremost experts on ancient Egypt, Dr Taylor’s presentation is not to be missed.

About the speaker

Dr John Taylor is a curator at the British Museum specialising in ancient Egyptian funerary archaeology. He is the author of numerous publications, including most recently Mummy: Secrets of the Tomb, Journey through the Afterlife: Ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead, Spells for Eternity and Egyptian Mummies.
