Eromanga giants

TitanosaurThe Queensland Museum Geosciences and the Outback Gondwana Foundation have been actively excavating dinosaurs from south western Queensland, near the township of Eromanga, since 2005. This collaboration was sparked by the discovery, in 2004, of the first dinosaur remains to be discovered in the southwest of Queensland.

The dinosaur bones are from rocks found in the Winton Formation, a geological layer 102-98 million years old. Since excavations began, three large sauropods have been discovered, nick-named George, Cooper and Zac.

For more information on these new discoveries go to the Outback Gondwana Foundation.
