Things to see and do
Accompanying adults are encouraged to scaffold and model learning behaviors such as conversations, observations, comparisons and inquiring to learn together throughout the whole museum.
Staff are located throughout the Museum to assist, offer directions or interpret information. Children’s activities and interactions feature throughout exhibitions within Queensland Museum.
Holiday Programs
The Museum is a great place to enjoy learning all year round, but celebrate that extra holiday buzz with our scheduled Holiday Programs.

Sea Monsters Torchlight Tours
Dates: Returning April 2021 school holidays
Back by popular demand after sold out season January 2021
Times: Tours 4pm and 5pm. Registration 15 minutes ahead of session start time.
As the sun begins to set and the lights go off, creatures of the ancient oceans come to life in a special tour of Sea Monsters by torchlight.
This intimate experience includes an opportunity to explore the exhibition with the lights on after the torchlight tour concludes.
Ideal for families with children 5 years and over.

Discovery Day for Little Learners
Dates: February17 and 18, 2021
Times: 9:30am - 1:00pm
Little Learners are welcome all year round but we also celebrate them with their own special day! Discovery Days offer additional learning spaces and experiences for families with children aged 2-6. Experiences foster curiosity, support STEM education and encourage shared and learning between children and adults.
In 2021, you can also enjoy our online Little Learners clips.
