Face mask and vaccination requirements

As per Queensland Government guidelines, face masks are required indoors from Sunday 2 January 2022.

Queensland Museum Network sites are operating in line with Queensland Government measures where only fully vaccinated visitors (aged 16 years and older) can attend Government-owned museums from 17 December. When you visit us you will need to check in using the Check In Qld app and have your vaccination certificated linked in the app. If you have a certified medical exemption for the vaccination this can be also added in the app, or you can bring a printed copy along as evidence to allow entry. If you don’t have a phone you can also use a printed copy of your COVID-19 digital vaccination certificate, your immunisation history statement, or your international COVID-19 vaccination certificate. Learn more.

Please monitor the website for updates.

Tips for planning your day

  • As part of our COVID safe plan, you’ll need to use the Check In Qld app before you enter the museum. Upon arrival please use the app to scan the QR code to check in and show our friendly staff the successful check in screen.
  • If we reach our capacity inside, you may have to queue for a short time before entry via the Level 2 door (near the pedestrian bridge to QPAC) and exit is via the Shop.
  • We’re open between 9:30am and 4pm and we are busiest in the morning before lunch.
  • To extend your visit experience, our shop team have produced a number of show bags and items to make your time a memorable one – see them all here.
  • We prefer cashless payments at our shops and Café Muse, so please bring a contactless bank card.
  • We’d love you to share your snaps of your museum experiences. Tag us with #myqldmuseum.
